Our focus is on serving communities across Africa where the need is greatest and where we can establish trusted local partnerships. How do you decide which communities or individuals to help?
Our process is community-led and partnership-based. We collaborate with established local leaders and grassroots organisations who help identify the most vulnerable individuals and families within their communities. We prioritise based on acute need, ensuring our support provides a critical foundation for stability and future growth.
Which of your three pillars (Poverty Relief, Education, Health) is the most important?
We believe all three are interconnected and equally vital. A child needs food to learn, needs health to attend school, and needs education to build a future. Our holistic approach addresses these needs in synergy rather than in isolation, creating a continuum of care and opportunity.
Do you provide long-term sponsorship for students?
Our educational support includes scholarship programs aimed at providing sustained assistance. Each case is evaluated based on need, merit, and available funding. We aim to support students for the duration of their academic or vocational program, contingent on continued partnership and resources.

We aim to respond to all urgent inquiries via WhatsApp within 24 hours and emails within 48 hours. Our goal is to listen, understand your situation, and guide you to the appropriate next step as swiftly and compassionately as possible.
Are your services completely free for beneficiaries?
Yes. All aid and support provided by The Michael Initiative (TMI) - whether food, educational scholarships, or healthcare access are given freely to beneficiaries. We are funded by the generosity of donors and partners who believe in our mission of providing a dignified hand up.
