Thank you for considering a donation to The Michael Initiative (TMI).
Your support is vital to our mission of restoring dignity and building futures across Africa. We are committed to operating with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

Please read this policy carefully before making a donation.

1. Nature of Our Organisation

The Michael Initiative (TMI) is an unincorporated association. We are a voluntary, community-based group operating without formal corporate registration. Our work is driven by a shared commitment to our mission and is coordinated by a team of dedicated volunteers and partners.

2. Voluntary Donations

All donations to The Michael Initiative (TMI) are made voluntarily and at the sole discretion of the donor. By donating, you acknowledge that:

  • Your contribution is a gift to support our charitable activities.
  • Donations are made without expectation of tangible return, financial benefit, or influence over operational decisions.
  • You are making this donation of your own free will.

3. Use of Funds

Donations received will be used to directly further our charitable objectives as outlined on our website:

  • Poverty Relief: Providing food, clean water, and essential supplies.
  • Educational Support: Funding scholarships, learning materials, and vocational training.
  • Healthcare Access: Supporting medical care.

We strive to direct the maximum possible proportion of every donation to frontline work. As a voluntary group, our operational overheads are minimal.

4. Tax Status & Receipts

As an unincorporated association, The Michael Initiative (TMI) is not a registered charity in a formal jurisdiction and does not currently have tax-exempt status. Therefore:

  • We cannot provide tax-deductible receipts.
  • Donations are not eligible for tax relief or Gift Aid schemes at this time.
  • We can, upon request, provide a standard acknowledgment of your donation for your personal records.

5. Refund Policy

Given that donations are voluntary contributions to support ongoing charitable work, we generally do not issue refunds. Exceptions may be considered only in extraordinary circumstances, such as a proven error in the donation processing. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing via email to info@themichaelinitiative.org and will be reviewed by our team.

6. Donor Privacy

We respect your privacy. We will not sell, trade, or share your personal details with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your information will be used solely to acknowledge your donation (unless you choose to remain anonymous) and to keep you informed about our work if you have opted in to updates.

7. Acknowledgement of Risk

By donating, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of The Michael Initiative (TMI) as a voluntary, unincorporated group. You accept that, while we exercise the highest degree of care and fiduciary responsibility, the legal and operational framework for unincorporated associations differs from that of formally registered charities.

8. Questions & Contact

If you have any questions about this Donation Policy, the nature of our organisation, or how your donation will be used, please do not hesitate to contact us before contributing.
